Both sides of the biconcave lens are concave and have the same radius of curvature. Biconcave lenses with a negative focal length are commonly used to collimate the beam, increase (decrease) the focal length, or expand (reduced) the image. Biconcave lens, is used to divergent light. The double concave lens is best used when the input beam is converging. It is used in beam expanders, projection optics systems, optical viewers and optical character readers etc.
We provide biconcave lenses with no coating and AR coating. AR coating options include UV, VIS, NIR, and SWIR. Germanium, silicon or zinc selenide substrates are suitable for infrared applications, and fused silica is suitable for ultraviolet applications.
